“The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves”
About Rachel
My philosophy regarding education is simple: learning happens all the time, in school and out. Some of us already have the tools to engage in active learning, while for some, learning style or subject matter makes that significantly more challenging. I work primarily with students who have challenges with executive functioning (EF) skills, including students with ADHD and other similar diagnoses.
I love to teach, and enjoy the act of helping students identify the ways in which they can make learning happen on their own! I work with students at their homes and at independent schools in the Bay Area.
I can help you:
Build stronger EF skills, including organization, time management, and study skills for academic success
Set long and short term academic and personal goals, and help you develop strategies toaccomplish goals effectively
Manage your online learning curriculum, whether you need subject-specific or organizational assistance
Prepare for the independent and boarding school applications, including preparation for standardized tests (ISEE, SSAT), essays and interviews
Prepare for college applications, including building a strong list, essay writing and editing
